Mr. Aldo Patruno is Director of Puglia Region – Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Valorization of Territory. After graduating in Law, he begins to work on strategic consultancy for local authorities. Since 2007, he is manager of the State Property Agency, gaining important experiences concerning with redevelopment and valorization, on urban and territorial level, and structuring significant re-use and income-generating projects for the public heritage.
After a master degree in Public Administrations Managment at Bocconi University in Milan, he is currently at the head of the new Puglia Region’s Department which connects the activities in the tourism and cultural fields.
He works primarily on medium-long term strategic planning, implementing actions in Puglia 365, the Regional Strategic Plan for Tourism, and PiiiLculturainPuglia, the Regional Strategic Plan for Culture, in order to intervene in a more targeted way on Apulian regulatory system and to optimize investments of European funds and resources: SMART-inPuglia for the enhancement and creation of Community Libraries, Fruition Laboratories, Theaters, Creativity Emporium; the three-year planning and financing of investments in Culture and Entertainment; the structuring of an integrated network of Tourist Infopoints; the supporting for low cost flights to increase incoming.
Also as AEVF vice President, Patruno is working on promoting and enhancing Slow Tourism by structuring an integrated network of historical, religious and thematic Cultural Routes.
